Volunteer Coordinator: Volunteer Intake

ORGANIZATION: NEW HOPE CLINIC INC

  • 1 person is interested

There are two parts to this position:

1. Main Intake Coordinator

The Main Intake Coordinator works with volunteer applicants and new volunteers. They make decisions about who will be accepted as a volunteer and where in the clinic they should be placed (they may consult the Volunteer Manager and department heads if unsure). They oversee the initial training of new volunteers and ensure that all paperwork is in order, whether for an administrative volunteer or a clinical one. They will ensure a smooth entry to the clinic for new volunteers. The Main Intake Coordinator and the Technical Intake Coordinator will work closely with one another, serving as back up for each other in case one cannot come in for a training or to complete their other tasks for an extended period of time.

2. Technical Intake Coordinator

The Technical Intake Coordinator has a similar purpose to the Main Intake Coordinator. They both oversee the intake process of new volunteers, sharing many of the duties with each other. However, as the name implies, this position has more computer/technical responsibilities than the Main Intake Coordinator, and includes overseeing the data analysis of training evaluations and volunteer surveys, as well as maintaining the scheduling for trainings and the end of service process for current volunteers.

About NEW HOPE CLINIC INC

Location:

201 W BOILING SPRING RD, SOUTHPORT, NC 28461, US

Mission Statement

To provide basic medical and dental care, diagnostic services and prescription drugs to low income, uninsured residents of Brunswick County and to enhance the quality of life, while preserving the privacy and dignity of every patient.

Description

The Affordable Care Act was implemented nationwide in 2014, yet the services of New Hope Clinic are still in great demand. H ow can this be? Most of our patients have incomes below the poverty level which makes them ineligible for subsidized insurance, yet they don’t meet the requirements for Medicaid coverage. Over 1.5 million North Carolinians still remain uninsured! We are working hard to make sure these patients, the less fortunate among us, have access to the health care they so desperately need.

New Hope Clinic has been working since 1998 to deliver a full range of quality healthcare services, including primary and specialty care, dental care, patient education, and prescription medications to low income, uninsured Brunswick County residents.

Our first year, we served 38 individuals out of a single room. Over the years, our services and patient population have continued to grow. Currently, a small staff and over 150 volunteers contribute over 10,000 volunteer hours to provide more than 5,000 patient encounters each year.
