There are two different reception desks at the Betty Ehart Senior Center (BESC). The upper level reception has two four hour shifts - one from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and from 12:30 - 4:30 p.mm Monday through Friday. That receptionist greets the general public, answers the phone and signs up participants for events. The lower level receptionist is at the desk from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and greets the general public as well as answering questions about any activities at BESC.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) is to provide service, fellowship, instruction and advocacy for retirees and senior citizens. The senior activity sites are places where seniors will learn, share meals, socialize, have fun and support each other as they interact with a respectful and service oriented staff.
Description
Los Alamos Volunteer Association (LAVA) is the volunteer arm of the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization. LAVA matches senior volunteers with non-profits in Los Alamos County and tracks volunteer hours for these volunteers. Additionally, LAVA is involved in a state funded pilot program to promote intergenerational volunteerism. As a result, LAVA is signing up volunteers of all ages.
