ORGANIZATION: Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue

Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue (PPITS) places a lot of importance in the management of our fosters and volunteers to ensure alignment with the goals of our organization, to ensure foster retention and the well-being of our foster pets. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and professional individual to join our dynamic team and assist Paw Prints in the Sand with its foster program. Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Maintain Foster Roster
  • Manage Foster activities such as:

o Attendance to events

o Pet transport to adoption events

o Provide assistance on needed supplies (food, toys, shampoo, flea meds, specific pet medications)

o Needed assistance with pet issues (contact rescue behaviorist)

  • Provide assistance to fosters as needed
  • Conduct home checks on approved foster applications
  • Assist with foster recruitment
  • Manage potential foster conflicts
  • Assist with foster retention and foster recognition
  • Attend adoption events
  • Schedule vetting appointments for fosters as needed
  • Work with Adoption Coordinator on meet and greets
  • Encourage fosters to share their fostered pet and take pictures of their pictures to keep the pet’s bios updated

Qualifications

  • Experience in personnel management
  • Foster experience preferred
  • Must be computer literate and know MS Office and social media platforms
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently, and within a team
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and respect for difference
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of service quality and the organization’s mission
  • Have a reliable vehicle with room for a crate, current car insurance and a valid driver’s license. You also need to have an understanding of responsible and secure animal transport.

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship or volunteer opportunity. Paw Prints in the Sand reimburses for rescue-related expenses and mileage according to the IRS Non-Profit Standard Mileage Rates.

Our mission is to save as help save as many lives as possible and put an end to animal abuse, abandonment and neglect. We strive reduce shelter overpopulation, owner surrenders and the number of stray animals who roam our streets by promoting spaying and neutering. We also promote responsible pet ownership and pet retention.

Description

Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) all- animal rescue organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused, abandoned, neglected and stray companion animals.

We rescue the pets that no one else will - severe medical, abuse and behavioral cases, pregnant pets and their litters, and senior pets.

Headquartered in Orange County, California, Paw Prints in the Sand is an all-volunteer, all-foster organization committed to animals in need, providing them with the utmost care, and helping them learn to love and trust again. We take considerable care in finding the perfect home for our rescue pets and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a pet into their homes and lives.

We also serve as a resource to pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including positive behavior training and information on good nutrition. We are here to assist you in every possible way throughout the adoption process and will continue to be a resource after you have welcomed your new pet into your life.
