Purpose: To assist high schoolers with their school assignments and overall improvement of homework skills so they can achieve their goals, increase their knowledge, and develop their potential. Qualifications: Teaching experience and/or coursework in secondary education is preferred, and completion of an orientation and training is required. Proficient computer skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Office, are necessary. Compassion, patience, adaptability, and the ability to learn and use new concepts are needed. Responsibilities: Provide general homework help including writing, math, and basic computer skills one afternoon per week.

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
