Greetings!
Comfort Choice Hospice is looking for a student Intern to visit patients and tend to their psychosocial needs. This student would, at times, shadow a Social worker and Spiritual Counselor. This position would best suit independent students in the related field of Social Work or Spiritual Counseling.
You will be interning/volunteering for a 3-5 month period, part-time. Scheduling will vary depending on the patients schedule and yours as well. At the end of this period you will receive a letter of recommendation, if requested, depending on your performance.
Qualifications:
All student intern must have the following in order to apply for this position.
1. Driver's License
2. Social Security (background check purposes)
3. Car Insurance
4. TB Results (we can provide, if you do not have)
5. Flu Vaccination (we can provide, if you do not have)
6. MUST currently be enrolled in classes related to SOCIAL WORK and/or SPIRITUAL COUNSELING field. i.e. psychology, theology, communications, human servics, etc.

We match volunteers to Hospices where they will excel the most. We offer training and orientation, continued education for all volunteers, certificates of completion and excellence. Whether volunteers are students trying to gain experience or if you just want to give back to the community. We hope that we find individuals who can successfully achieve their goals and provide helpful assistance to Hospice organizations within the Los Angeles County.
Description
Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their families caregivers in a variety of ways. Hospice also rely on volunteers to help with office work, fund raising, community outreach and other operational areas.
