Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano, an education nonprofit dedicated to assisting first generation students pursue higher education is currently seeking mentors to assit high school juniors through their college application process. Mentors will be able to work with college bound juniors and assist them with brainstorming personal statements, creating college lists, applying to colleges, and much more. If you know how to navigate the college application process and wish to support students that are first in their families to attend college then this opportunity is for you!

Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano strives to increase academic opportunities to highly motivated, underserved students to be the first in their families to graduate high school and attend college. while simultaneously inspiring and developing the next generation of teachers and educational leaders.
Description
Breakthrough SJC is a 6-year, tuition free college access program for highly motivated middle and high school students. Middle school students attend an intensive 6-week summer school enrichment program, in addition to after-school tutoring and enrichment during the school year. High school students attend monthly meetings at their high schools, receive tutoring, and college counseling to ensure that they remain on a college bound path throughout high school.
