RRUFF participates in indoor and outdoor events and fundraisers throughout the year promoting the Healing Heroes Scholarship Program. This program raises money to fund scholarships for service dog training for Disabled American Veterans with PTSD, TBI and MST.
We need someone to help with the logistics of each event which may include some of the following:
Setting up our booth - table, chairs, easy-up, hand outs, etc
Making sure booth is kept clean and organized during event
Good people skills - will work closely with volunteer coordinator and will assist volunteers during event. Be able to explain the benefits of the Healing Heroes Program
Meet and talk with other vendors and event organizer(s) and make sure RRUFF is a good "event participant" by following all instructions and rules/regs for the event.
Take down the booth and return everything to the storage locker (located in Rocklin) ready to go for the next event. Let the appropriate RRUFF board member know if any supplies need to be replenished.
Most events are on a Saturday or Sunday in Spring, Summer & Fall during the day, usually from about 9:00 a.m. until about 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Set up normally must be completed 1 hour prior to start of event.
These are some of the veteran related events we participate in during the year:
Spring: Women Veteran's Unconference
Late Spring: Heroes & Hounds Motorcycle Poker Run (Held May 21 in 2016)
August - Woofstock & Grateful Dog Run
September - Seamus Davey Memoria Golf Tournament
September - Patriot's Day
We speak at various service groups and veterans' organizations throughout the year. For example, Kiwanis, Rotary, American Legion, VFW, Lincoln Hills Veterans Club, Soroptimists, Chamber of Commerces, and more.
22 Veterans commit suicide every day. That's 1 every 65 minutes. We work hard to help change that. How? 1 Veteran and 1 Dog At A Time

Mission Statement
Serving Disabled Veterans and the Canine Community
Description
RRUFF was originally formed to establish the first off-leash dog park in Rocklin, Ca. The dog park opened December 23, 2011. In 2014 our mission expanded and Healing Heroes became a program of RRUFF. This program is dedicated to providing funding for service dog training expenses to veterans and first responders with post traumatic stress disorder and other invisible disabilities. Classes are held throughout the greater Sacramento, Placer, Yuba, and El Dorado counties. We continue to manage the RRUFF Dog Park inside Johnson-Springview park. And we continue to fund veterinary care for service dogs in-training as well as assist in finding and adopting, rescuing or purchasing dogs to match with veterans in the program. We have grown substantially over the past four years and look forward to continued expansion and collaboration within the nonprofit community . Our focus will be on raising money for the needs of the dogs in the service dog training classes as well as maintaining the RRUFF Dog Park.
