Haven Coalition is a network of volunteers who open their homes to low-income women forced to travel to New York City for second-trimester abortions. Haven exists because abortion, while legal, is often not accessible. Haven is an all-volunteer organization with relationships to several NYC clinics that refer patients to us. Haven hosts provide a safe place to sleep, transportation to and from the clinic, and a meal. Volunteers sign up for days to be "on call" and host once or less per month.
