The Arizona Capitol Museum is seeking high energy Museum Gift Shop Volunteers.
Volunteers assist customers with purchases; assist with merchandise displays; and assist with gift shop operations when the manager is not available.
The Museum Gift Shop is looking for volunteers to donate time on weekdays between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:00 pm. Saturdays the Gift Shop is open from 10:00-2:00. Volunteers must be available at least one day per week for at least 4 hours and have the following qualities;
--A positive upbeat personality focused on providing excellent customer service.
--Computer literacy, or experience with computer cash registers (helpful).
--Excellent communication skills and ability to be tactful under pressure.
--Dependable, accountable, and trustworthy.
--Professional appearance.
--Some lifting of light items.
--Training is provided

Description
The Arizona Capitol Museum is housed in the 1899 Territorial Capitol, and is the oldest portion of the current State Capitol complex. Four floors of exhibits tell of Arizona's path to statehood, and the how its government has evolved over the decades. Featured artifacts and exhibits include the flag carried by Teddy Roosevelt's "Rough Riders" in the Spanish-American War, the silver service from the USS Arizona, and recreated early 20th Century government offices. Admission and parking are free, museum & store open M-F 9-4, and Sat 10-2 (Sept-May).
