Mission Statement

Health connects all species. Cura Earth combines science, social action, and creativity to achieve sustainable health of people, animals, and ecosystems.

Description

Cura Earth is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing comprehensive international research, conservation, and public health programs and the human, animal, and environmental interface.

We are launching a campaign in late May/early June for a a crowdfunding campaign and need to be able to get more supporters and a wider reach at that time. The project is a first of its kind research project focused on the microbiome of hawksbill sea turtles, a critically endangered species that is also an indicator of the fast changing environment it lives in that impacts people's lives and health in the region we work in. This crowdfunding campaign is a keystone in our strategy to scale up our organization and create a larger base of supporters and donors, as well as provide us with data to use to apply to larger scientific and foundation grants. We have also received funding to start a pilot program looking at infectious diseases transmitted to humans from animals via ticks and fleas. Having expert assistance in the marketing, PR, legal issues, and board development will provide us the necessary skills to realize our mission.
