Bronx Zoo Field Trip Specialists must commit to 12 hours/month volunteering regular weekday mornings. Field Trip Specialists will greet school groups arriving for school programs at the Gate and escort them to their classroom. There volunteers will support the Instructor during classes with various duties including leading exhibit visits, provide input for new program opportunities, meet with the Instructors and Education team staff on a regular basis and assist with future program preparation.
Candidates for the Field Trip Specialist volunteer program must pass an interview and successfully complete a four day training course and shadow educational programs under the guidance of our Conservation Educators.
This is a great opportunity for those interested in wildlife conservation, biology and/or teaching.
Benefits include free admission to WCS's four zoos and Aquarium in New York. They also receive continuing education courses on wildlife biology and discounts at WCS gift shops.
