The Friends of the Montclair Library is a volunteer group that - among other activities -- holds book sales to raise money for enhanced services and programs at the Montclair Branch Library. The Friends are seeking a new Book Sale Coordinator to assume responsibility for the planning and implementation of these events.
Responsibilities include the organization, transportation, and staging of books; volunteer coordination; and disposal of unsold books after each event.
We're looking for someone to take on this project for the long-term -- coordinating two major sales each year. There will also be a few smaller, specialty-themed sales to coordinate.
If you have good management and leadership qualities, an out-going personality, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, please consider applying. Please note: volunteers must be 18 or older, licensed drivers, and have access to a vehicle.

Description
The Oakland Public Library is a part of the City of Oakland, and has been in existence since 1878. Our locations currently include 16 branches, a Main Library, 6 Teen Zones, the Second Start Adult Literacy Program, a Tool Lending Library and the African-American Museum and Library. We also operate the Books for Wider Horizons program that recruits, trains, and places volunteer story readers in preschool or childcare centers throughout the City of Oakland, and offer many other special services for residents of Oakland and California.
We are supported by a lively Friends of the Library group and by the Library Advisory Commission, as well as by local Friends' groups around the city.
