Are you a history buff who likes to organize? Interested in getting more social media savy? Well CATS has the perfect opportunity for you!

With our 20th year celebration right around the corner, we are in need of volunteers to help archive and organize our old photographs, newspaper articles, and other media from the past 20 years. These volunteers would be helping to organize this media by year as well as helping CATS staff to upload/scan them onto our computer. Volunteers would also help with creating social media posts to be posted onto the CATS Facebook page throughout the year as we celebrate our 20th Birthday.

About Community Alliance for Teen Safety

Location:

1 Hood Rd., Derry, NH 03038, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote safe habits for all youth by increasing awareness of high-risk behaviors, encouraging healthy choices, and fostering community alliances in the greater Derry region of New Hampshire's Rockingham County.

Description

The Community Alliance for Teen Safety was founded in 1996 after the greater Derry area experienced 11 fatal crashes involving teen drivers during an 18-month period in 1995 and 1996. CATS focused on public outreach and education about safe driving as well as spearheaded legislation to support a graduated licensing bill for teens, to increase the mandatory seat belt age from 12 to 18, to review driver education programs, and to enact mandatory li-cense suspension for moving violations of individuals under 20. The Community Alliance for Teen Safety (CATS) was formed as a result of this grassroots effort. CATS continues to be a force in the community that addresses high-risk behaviors. In addition to driving safety, CATS focuses on teen substance misuse prevention, bullying prevention, internet safety and media literacy, prescription drug disposal and misuse awareness, as well as issues related to the health and safety of youth and families.
