Do you love to build community and bring great people together to do amazing things? Wonderful! Now you can make a meaningful impact in your community by helping girls and adults connect with Girl Scout Troops in the area as a Girl Scouts Treasurer.

As Treasurer you will have a chance to use all of your incredible knack for organization and way with numbers to help Girl Scout volunteers in your town. A Girl Scout Treasurer is available to answer questions about Girl Scout finances and troop bank accounts, s/he keeps accurate records, balances accounts, determines budgets, and completes an annual financial report. S/he will work hand in hand with the Community Coordinator as they organize community events.

The Treasurer position is year round with an average time commitment of 2-3 hours per week. The Treasurer works primarily with adults unless choosing to lead a troop or work with girls in some other capacity.

Description

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is an organization dedicated to girls and is a leader in innovative girl programming and collaboration. GSEM serves nearly 33,000 girls, ages 5-18, from 178 communities in Eastern Massachusetts. Our community of nearly 15,000 adult members includes volunteers, parents, caregivers, staff, alumnae, students, and professionals. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible options that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls.
