The Sales Associate is a volunteer position responsible for assisting customers, welcoming customers to the store, answering general questions about the store and merchandise, and the processing of donated materials for sale at the Habitat Store. The volunteer must be willing to adhere to and express the mission of Habitat for Humanity and maintain a Christian working atmosphere.
Detailed instructions are given at each new assignment. As the person becomes familiar with procedures, more unsupervised judgment and decision making duties are given. Your work is subject to review as needed by the Store Manager. Adherence to the Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County policy and procedures is required.
Experience working in a retail store environment is desirable. Volunteer Sales Associates must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills and have the ability to make change and operate a cash register.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
