The Front Runners Program is the perfect volunteer opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience working with children. Volunteers will help the children of backside workers, ages 2 to 18, succeed academically by tutoring them after school once or twice a week.

The program offers after school homework assistance, reading practice, and other social and academic enrichment activities for the children of the equine workers at Churchill Downs.

SCHEDULE: The Front Runners Program is held at Beechmont Baptist Church from 5:30-7:15 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in September. We ask that volunteers commit to tutoring at least once a week, either Tuesday or Thursday, for a full semester (Fall: September-December; or Spring: January-April).
