Love customer service, conversations and helping others? If so, then Habitat’s ReStore has a position for you! Our ReStore is booming and we need great cashiers to guarantee a smile on our customer's faces as they walk out that door.
Our Volunteer Cashiers are the face of the ReStore and are the first people our shoppers see when they walk through the door. We are looking for friendly, people-oriented volunteers! While cash handling experience is preferred, experience running a cash register is not required- we’re happy to train the right person!
This position requires a training by a staff member. This will take place on site during a scheduled shift.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding store hours and policies
- Completing cash and credit transactions
- Answering customer questions
- Ensuring a positive customer experience
Qualifications:
- The availability to work at least one regular weekly shift
- Previous cash handling experience
- People-oriented
- Flexible and enthusiastic
- Pass our background check

Staffed largely by volunteers, Habitat’s ReStores are eco-friendly locations to both donate and shop for home building supplies and furnishings. Habitat’s ReStores carry overstocked, discounted, new and used building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. The stores are open to the public with all items sold at a fraction of the retail cost. ReStore donations benefit Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity's mission of building simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need.

Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing by working alongside future homeowners and volunteers to build and rehab simple, decent and affordable houses. Milwaukee Habitat also two donation-driven retail stores called the ReStores.
All proceeds from ReStore sales benefit Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity's mission of building simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need. The ReStore is stocked exclusively with donated items such as new and used furniture, appliances, kitchen cabinets, building materials and other home goods.
