Volunteer to help residents in need by driving them to appointments or to a store. Mesquite has seniors and disabled individuals who are incapable of driving a vehicle but still have a need to get around town. Their needs exceed the time/availablity of other public transportation options.
To help with this opportunity, you'll need to qualify to drive by passing a background check, driver's check and physical exam. Drivers may either use a City vehicle or receive mileage reimbursement for their own vehicles.

Description
The City's Volunteer Program is built on the premise that both the volunteer and the City will mutually benefit from the partnership. Volunteers can enhance and augment the City's ability to provide quality services to the community by participating in a variety of City programs and activities. In return, volunteers receive an opportunity to increase their skills and knowledge, while becoming better prepared to participate in government and to influence decisions affecting their community.
