Volunteers are the heart of hospice. You CAN make a difference in someones life. Volunteer opportunities available:
- Office/clerical - filing, answering phones, mailings, completing notebooks, folders, etc.
- Friendly visitors - Visit hospice patients and just talk, read to them, listen to music, play a game or hold a hand
- Special projects - Knit/crochet/quilt lap robes,
- Bereavement - Phones calls, grief support and follow up with families
- Vigil volunteer -Sit with hospice patient during the last hours of life
We serve patients in a 60 mile radius of Davenport and will work with you to find a volunteer assignment convenient for you.

Mission Statement
The mission of Heartland Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to clients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their caregivers. The quality of life for those we serve is enhanced through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the clients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team. Care is provided to clients either in their own home or extended care facility; working cooperatively with area health providers and other community resources. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay.
