The Shenandoah Free and Dental Clinics (dba Shenandoah Community Health Clinic) offers health professionals (physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, hygienists and medical/clerical workers) the opportunity to work in a gratifying and appreciated environment. The patients are uninsured or under-insured with medical or dental issues, and cooperate and appreciate greatly the care provided to them. You will work with a dedicated and professional staff and other volunteers, many who have been active with the Clinic for years!
We currently need the following volunteers:
1. Triage Nurse - Responsible for making a first assessment on incoming patients; nursing degree/background required. Must be able to commit a consistent 4 hours or more/week.
2. Front Desk Receptionist - Performs routine clerical, secretarial, and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, and record-keeping.
3. Medical Interpreter - Looking for a bilingual volunteer who has knowledge of medical vocabulary.

Description
Shenandoah Community Health Clinic ; also known as the Shenandoah Free Clinic and Shenandoah Dental Clinic, offers healthcare services to Shenandoah County residents who are uninsured or underinsured. The Free Clinic provides care in the way a private doctor’s office would; the Dental Clinic provides care primarily to families with Medicaid coverage. Both Clinics seek to fill the gaps in the healthcare safety net, care for our community and educate residents on healthy lifestyle choices!
