4-H Camp

Be a leader. Be a role model. Be a friend, and have a BLAST!

Camp dates: June 30-July 4, 2019
Location: Northern Virginia 4-H Center, Front Royal, VA

Every year, Arlington County 4-H recruits bright, mature, and dedicated teenagers LIKE YOU to lead by example at the Fairfax-Arlington-Alexandria (FAA) 4-H Camp. As a Teen Counselor, you will have a big job. You will work with a team of your peers and adult volunteers to supervise children aged 9-13, helping them to learn how to brave their fears and try new things, to deal with homesickness, to get along with others who are different from them, to build a thriving camp community, to take responsibility for themselves and for the well-being of their peers and the environment, and to loosen up and have FUN!

Being a Teen Counselor for 4-H Camp is a great way to develop leadership skills, learn more about your strengths, and make new friends.

Because being a 4-H Camp Counselor is also a big responsibility, we ask you to complete plenty of training beforehand to prepare you to be a caregiver during camp. This training focuses on leadership, teamwork, and safety. This is excellent preparation for future leadership roles. Teens must be 14 or older and able to commit to the entire week of camp.

Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and employment are open to all, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital or family status.
