We have another need for a VOLUNTEER Activity Aide. Great opportunity for a retired nurse, nursing students, PCA, or nursing aide, activity staff, etc. If you would like to add to your resume or give back 1-2 hours two to three times a night (hours are 7:30-9:30), then we are your match!
Provide non-thereupeutic or non-clinical help to the nursing staff by sitting in rooms with residents waiting to go to bed, holding hands, talking, reading mail, writing letters, watching a favorite TV program, helping fill out a crossword or word search puzzle, help assemble a jigsaw puzzle, or maybe even help with a small group activity for people who retire late. You will be added to the monthly activity calendar on specified days, so it will be imperative that you be here on the evenings you request.
Must be over the age of 18, have reliable transportation, be able to transport people in wheelchairs safely. Must be able to pass a SLED background check. No experience necessary - I will train you, if needed.
Perfect opportunity for someone who used to work 2nd shift or is used to being a night owl. Someone with experience dealing with sundowners, alzheimer's dementias, is an asset and will be greatly appreciated. Again, I stress - we can train you.
