Hospice is a program focused on improving quality of life and comfort for patients living with advanced illness, their caregiver(s), and families. Hospice provides pain and symptom relief, medical attention, and emotional and spiritual support from an experienced and compassionate hospice clinical team , right in the comfort each patient’s own home .
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for students seeking service learning requirements or volunteer experience with a demographic of people nearing end-of-life. Volunteering with St. Croix Hospice is a great choice for anyone studying the emotional, spiritual, or physical effects of advanced illness. We love to partner with classes studying such material to provide students with real-life experience. Hands-on experience through companionship for hospice patients is invaluable in shaping a student’s worldview and perspective. All of our volunteers receive comprehensive training and support through local Volunteer Coordinators.
