Hampton Roads

The Hampton Roads Community Development Corporation is seeking volunteers to participate as mentors to boys and girls in the Hampton Roads community. We are seeking dedicated men and women to act as mentors to children ielementary and middle schools in in our program. . The goal is to start with teaching children and help them to develop and sense of responsibility for growing into adulthood and ultimately becoming great and thriving citizens who give back to their communities. Programs will include activities that strive to improve their relationships with their parents, in their homes, schools and with their peers. A plan to emphasize open communication with the adults in their lives will be an important part of this program.

Mentor must be able to pass a background check.

Description

The Hampton Roads Community Development Corporation is a non-profit organization that seeks to provides several programs to the Hampton Roads Community to benefit the community as a whole. The program will form partnerships with local governmental agencies, school districts and the juvenile court system to foster a commitment to the Community that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.
