Willamette Valley Christian School, a small private school in Brooks right off of 99E south, would love a library assistant! They do not have a librarian and all the teachers do the best they can to share the responsibilities, but having a volunteer just for the library would be a tremendous help in getting new books entered into the database, organizing shelves, and helping with book check-out and returns. Schedule would be flexible, and would be anytime Monday-Friday (when school is in session) between 8am-3pm. Training will be provided. A nationwide volunteer program, RSVP invites adults 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to benefit and support organizations and non-profits in their community through volunteer service.
Description
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from one to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, senior centers, police departments, libraries and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
