Please join us for our 2016MLK Day of Service! We'll be planting native trees at a site along Ohop Creek near Eatonville.
Monday, January 18th from 9:00am to 4:00pm with an hour long lunch break.
The Ohop Creek restoration project has been one of the largest restoration projects in South Puget Sound with over 110,000 native trees and shrubs planted and 2.5 miles of meandering creek restored. This planting event is another large step in the restoration of this important riparian habitat. We hope you can join us! The Nisqually Land Trust acquires and manages critical lands to permanently benefit the water, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed.
Description
The Nisqually Land Trust is a non-profit organization that acquires, maintains, and restores important lands along the Nisqually River to viable habitat for salmon and other wildlife.
It was established in 1989 to protect wildlife habitat threatened by the consequences of rapid population growth. Today it conserves and restores over 5,000 acres throughout the Nisqually River watershed.
