The Maricopa Trail and Park Foundation are hosting the inaugural Prickly Pedal on the Maricopa Trail Mountain Bike Race on January 23, 2016.
The event begins at Lake Pleasant Regional Park and ends in the Town of Cave Creek (near the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area). An estimated 300 riders will wind their way along the Maricopa Trail to complete the 50-mile course. Proceeds from the race will go towards the Maricopa Trail and Park Foundation.
In order to make this event SPECTACULAR, the Foundation needs 200 awesome volunteers to assist with registration, water stations, aid stations, the finish line, and much more! We especially need 50 volunteers near Spur Cross to assist as Couse Marshals from 9:30-3:30pm. Times vary. Please submit an application at http://pricklypedal.com/volunteer/.

From hiking on a barrier-free trail, to horseback riding along a creek, Maricopa County Parks offer visitors the best of the Sonoran Desert. At approximately 120,000 acres, Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional park system in the United States. All trails within the Maricopa County Park System are for non-motorized use only. Ten parks in the system circle the metropolitan area and all are within a 45-minute drive from downtown Phoenix.
