Mission Statement
Many Mothers contributes to the health and wellbeing of communities by providing physical, emotional, and practical support to any family following the birth or adoption of a new baby.
Description
For over 20 years Many Mothers (and Muchas Mamas before that) has helped families find the caring support needed to uniquely address the needs of new parent. With family living afar and friends working outside the home, today's new mothers often do not have adequate support. These new mothers can feel extremely isolated, deeply exhausted and thoroughly overwhelmed.
Research shows that the degree of a mothers' postpartum depression is inversely related to the amount of support she receives. Helping families from the beginning of a baby's life is preventative and reduces the need for future intervention with its higher societal costs.
Our volunteers honor the effort it takes to bring a new life into this world and the challenges parenthood introduces to a family. With respectful and nonjudgemental mentoring support, mothers are revitalized and able to be more present for their families' well being. Many Mothers' services are FREE to all families.
Please visit our website at www.manymothers.org or call 983-5984 for information about volunteering. An interview, reference checks, back ground check and orientation are all required prior to serving with a family. Thank you for your interest!
