The mission of The Wonders of Physics (TWoP) program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is to generate interest in physics among people of all ages and backgrounds. TWoP shows are fast-paced, engaging, and educational physics programs, filled with demonstrations that help people better understand the physics in the world around them, while having fun at the same time!

Since Professor Emeritus Clint Sprott created the program in 1984, more than 300,000 people have seen our shows, including minority, low-income and rural groups. Last year alone, TWoP programs inspired, educated and entertained over 41,000 people. And we have plans to expand throughout Wisconsin and beyond, allowing us to reach thousands more passionate young, budding scientists.

The Wonders of Physics is looking for individuals to help us with our social media efforts for 4 or more hours per week. The members of this team will conduct various tasks including posting updates on our website and other social media accounts, getting an automated booking system running, and editing training videos for The Wonders of Physics' traveling show. People in this position must know how to program with WiscWeb CMS (or be willing to learn how to use it) and be comfortable working with social media. This position is great for those with computer skills, marketing, and/or advertising skills who want to apply them to science outreach.

NOTE: While this position has flexible hours, it is preferred that social media volunteers live in the Madison, WI area where The Wonders of Physics office is located in order to be able to communicate in person periodically with other program members.
