Are you looking for a creative outlet? Do you like to solve problems? Do you get a kick out of watching kids come alive as they discover what they can do? Then Destination Imagination might be just the thing for you!
Destination Imagination (DI) helps kids break out of the tried and true to discover what they can do when their imaginations are given free reign. Parents can’t do it for them. This is all kids!
Every year, Destination Imagination comes up with some interesting and creative Challenges for kids to solve. Kids form teams under the supervision of a Team Manager and work on their solutions from fall to spring. Then in spring, they compete in a regional tournament to show off their creative solutions. Winners advance to the state tournament, where they compete with other regional winners from all over Virginia. Winners at the state tournament advance to the global tournament, where they compete with teams from as far away as China!
Southwest DI needs adult volunteers (18+ years) to help with our regional tournaments in positions such as Challenge Masters, Appraisers, and Tournament Volunteers. Interested?
You will be trained in everything you need to know to perform your role, and you can dress up in a costume if you want to! If you’re into technology, structures, or science, drama (fine arts), creative problem solving, and working with kids of all ages, why not check us out?
Southwest DI could really use your help, and you might find out that you get back more than you give!!!"
