*Please note: if you are seeing this opportunity on LinkedIn, please select 'Apply on company website' above and express interest through VolunteerMatch. Thank you!*

The Team TAPS Fundraising Coach will perform the following functions for the Team TAPS Program:

1. Be a conduit for our runners who are fundraising, and providing them weekly/monthly guidance for their fundraising.

2. Connect with our runners and make sure they're on track to meet their fundraising minimums, providing them tips, assurance and any assistance they need.

3. Calling and emailing Team TAPS runners and reminding them, encouraging them and helping them through the fundraising process (this is very much so important for new fundraisers)

4. Work with the Team TAPS program leaders to create "tools" that can help enhance and make easier the individual fundraising effort by runners we support. Being a source of motivation for those who may lose steam through their fundraising progress.

Requirements:

1. Must be experience in individual fundraising and provide proof of own experience fundraising as a runner/walker for other organizations. No formal education needed, just proven experience as a fundraiser with an encouraging attitude.

2. Must be available for on-the-job training until Team TAPS can allow you to work remotely. This call only requires that you have time to make phone calls, send emails and be available to assigned runners as fundraising coaches will have assigned runners they're assisting.

(NOTE: Fundraising coach will not be expected to fundraise for TAPS, rather, be that motivation and resource for those who are fundraising)

Serious inquiries only please. Those interested will be required to provide a summation of their work and experience. Candidates who are chosen will also be required to conduct an in person interview. After initial training, orientation and Team TAPS meeting, candidates will be assigned to teams, provided expectations, goals and will have flexible hours that meet their schedule. We have all the capabilities to work remotely through cloud based services, GoToMeeting and other technologies that will allow for communication among teams.

Description

OUR WORK

TAPS provides a variety of programs to survivors nation and worldwide. Our National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp has been held annually in Washington, D.C. over Memorial Day weekend since 1994. TAPS also conducts regional survivor seminars with adult and youth programs at locations across the country as well as retreats and expeditions around the world. Staff connects surviving family members to counseling in their community and helps navigate benefits and resources.

PEER SUPPORT FOR BEREAVED SURVIVORS

TAPS was founded on the principles of best practices in peer-based emotional support for bereaved survivors. Today, TAPS provides care to over 100,000 grieving military family members using these best practices. Peer support gives those who have had a unique experience or who are facing a personal challenge the framework to connect with others who share that experience or challenge. Peer support happens in individual and group settings. By the simple act of knowing they are not alone in their experience and realizing that other have overcome similar challenges, peers find validation, normalization, and ultimately, a sense of hopefulness.

TAPS is a national nonprofit 501(c)3 Veterans Service Organization and has a four-star rating on Charity Navigator.
