The Team TAPS Public Engagement Specialist will perform the following functions for the Team TAPS Program:

1. Become subject matter experts regarding TAPS mission, history, services, and factsheets.

2. Engage in public awareness campaigns on behalf of Team TAPS.

3. Man Expositions, Conferences and Community Events as a Team TAPS representative.

4. "Sell" the TAPS story to the general public in hopes to their "buy in" which will lead to buying merchandise, donating to the organization or participating in Team TAPS events.

5. Work with Team TAPS to create sales and pitch strategy. Additionally, be a part of the creative thought process that leads to new ideas, gimmicks and other tactics that can be used to draw in customers.

Requirements:

1. Must have experience as a telemarketer, salesman, pitchman or public speaker. It's preferred if this individual is very convincing, tenacious, resourceful all the while being very tactful in approach.

2. Must be able to commit duration of 5 months to Team TAPS and attend the Expos, Conferences and Public Forums through September and October of 2016. Most of these are weekends or evenings.

3. Bachelor’s Degree or equal experience in Marketing, Sales, Retail, Development/Fundraising, or non-profit management is preferred.

4. Must be comfortable engaging the public and getting told "no" and not being discouraged.

5. Must be willing to submit to criminal background check.

Candidates who are chosen will also be required to conduct an in person interview. After initial training, orientation and Team TAPS meeting, candidates will be assigned to teams, provided expectations, goals and will have flexible hours that meet their schedule. We have all the capabilities to work remotely through cloud based services, GoToMeeting and other technologies that will allow for communication among teams.

About TAPS: The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the national organization providing compassionate care for the families of America’s fallen military heroes and has offered support to more than 50,000 surviving family members of our fallen military and their caregivers since 1994.
