  • 10 people are interested

The International Child/Parent Development Program (ICDP) aims to strengthen the empathy-based relationship all child caregivers have with the children they care for so that they may promote positive development and well-being. ICDP is adapted and integrated within communities through the training of each community’s professionals and parents. Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation (CCWF) implements ICDP throughout the Chicagoland area.

Since its inception in 2011, Changing Children's Worlds Foundation has become home to numerous interns from many different universities throughout Illinois. Working with the Changing Children's World Foundation has provided many students with wonderful opportunities for professional growth, academic credit (dependent upon the institution’s approval), and experience working in the nonprofit sector. Interns will have hands-on experience within diverse communities as well as time spent in program development and evaluation. Note that this is an unpaid internship.

We're looking for someone creative, engaged and internet-savvy with experience. Using our platforms and creating new ones, you will have the opportunity to learn about event promotion, fundraising through social media and much more. It will also give you the opportunity to gain insights into nonprofit management, children's rights, and work within communities.

  • Supporting Salesforce & Campaign Monitor.

  • Keeping social media outlets updated and contributing to continuous improvement.

  • Expansion of current readership of all media.

Mission Statement

CCWF's vision is for every child and adolescent to have a strong network of caregivers engaged in supporting their positive development in nonviolent families and peaceful communities.

Description

CCWF strives to improve children's worlds through awareness raising, education, and training throughout communities worldwide. Through our educational programs we address a universal need for all families to understand their child's needs and to give caregivers the confidence that they can support their child's development. We provide the foundation for participants in our program to give their children more positive life opportunities and experiences than they themselves had. CCWF strives to reduce the incidences of violence, maltreatment, and neglect through strengthening the capacity of parents, caregivers, and communities to care for children's health and emotional well-being.
