Position: Music, drumming, or movement "instructor"
Purpose: To engage children through singing, drumming, musical instruments, or basic movement/dance.
Organization:Compass Family Services creates a strong safety net for homeless and at-risk families by providing a broad continuum of services that help our clients achieve housing stability, family well-being, and self-sufficiency.
Program: Compass Family Shelter provides homeless families with short-term emergency shelter, supportive services, and long-term follow-up care. Services enable families to secure and then maintain housing, improve their employment prospects and address the underlying issues that contributed to their current instability.
Reports to: Children Activities Coordinator
Commitment: The music instructor position requires a minimum commitment of 45 minutes-one hour per week. The program time is negotiable but needs to be held on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday sometime between 4-6pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage children with some type of music or movement activity.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Children’s Activities Coordinator
Skills Required
- Knowledge of basic movement or songs geared to toddler and/or early school aged youth.
