We are in need of one Spanish speaker and one Creole speaker to assist us with placing phone calls to a list of clients.
Once a month, 136 eligible seniors over the age of 60 receive a supplemental food kit from our pantry. This supplemental kit is a part of a Federally funded program known as the Commodity Supplemental Feeding Program (CSFP). It is reffered to by our Spanish speaking clientele as "Las Cajas".
Volunteers will place calls one week prior to the distribution to remind clients that they must pick up their kits. We will also need volunteers to place a follow up call the week after distribution to those who forgot to arrive, and remind them that their kits are waiting for them.
Our clients are given a total of two weeks to pick up their kits before they are then handed out to those on our waiting list.
If you are interested, please let us know. Volunteer service must be done on-sight and a volunteer code-of-conduct form to be signed and completed, along with a review of our non-discrimination policy and procedures.

Meals of Hope is the largest food pantry in Southwest Florida. We operate 13 weekly and bi weekly food pantries in Collier and Lee counties. Volunteers are always need to help pack and distribute food at these pantries.
Meals of Hope has also given tens of thousands of volunteer-minded individuals a way to make a positive impact by bringing Food Packing Events at their local churches, businesses, schools, associations, clubs, and other service organizations. They are tackling a serious problem while having fun. In less than two hours, tens of thousands of meals are packed at a cost of less than $.30 per meal.
