Venice Family Clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Scribe to help us provide quailty health care services to people in need.
The Medical Scribe's core responsibility is to capture accurate and detailed documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). General duties include:
- Assisting the provider in navigating the EHR
- Responding to various messages as directed by the provider
- Locating information for review (i.e., previous notes, reports, test results, and laboratory results)
- Entering information into the EHR as directed by the provider
- Researching information requested by the provider
Program Requirements:
- Previous medical experience; Experience with EHR preferred
- Commitment to a regular weekly shift for at least 6 months
Training will be provided for quality candidates.

Description
Over the past 50 years, Venice Family Clinic’s mission of providing quality primary health care to people in need hasn’t changed, but its scope has broadened dramatically. Today, the Clinic has about 400 staff members and more than 1,300 volunteers who serve 28,000 patients, without regard for their ability to pay or immigration status. Its programs have expanded beyond primary medical care to include dental, vision, behavioral health, exercise classes, health education, early childhood development - and street medicine for people experiencing homelessness, to ensure even the most vulnerable of its neighbors get the medical care they deserve.
Our Volunteer Services Department strives to recruit and connect the best volunteers possible with almost every department within the clinic. We work to provide support to the volunteers as well as the clinic teams whom they help. Every year, we work with over 1400 volunteers, including approximately 500 provider volunteers. Our department helps with recruiting, training, scheduling, and general upkeep of all volunteers.
