Position Description: Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association seeks a Social Media Guru to support special events and assist with creating promotional/marketing material.

Aside from event marketing, this volunteer will be providing support for our member businesses in Downtown Encinitas. This comes in the form of creating clever marketing plans, via social media.

This is a great opportunity for a college student or recent grad seeking experience in marketing or social media. He/she will gain hands on experience working alongside the Events Director to successfully promote community events. This volunteer will also assist with member cultivation and increasing our email listing. Candidates must be professional, passionate, and extremely detail-oriented. A quick learner who is highly motivated and pro-active is a must.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Creating eye catching social media posts to boost event awareness/member businesses

- Providing support with social media posts prior to or on event days

- Meeting with E101 staff (once a week) to plan a schedule of posts

Skills & Qualifications Include:

- Resourcefulness, creativity, adaptability, flexibility, and ability to exercise sound judgment and work calmly under pressure

- Ability to establish priorities, balance demands of multiple projects and meet deadlines

- Strong communication and editing skills

- Organized and excellent attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and take initiative

- Experience with Adobe or InDesign a HUGE plus
