Mission Statement

The mission of the Central Illinois Community Blood Center is to provide the highest quality blood and related services to meet the needs of the communities we serve.

Description

Central Illinois Community Blood Center (CICBC), a division of Mississippi valley Regional Blood Center, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1971 at the request of Memorial Medical Center & Saint John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. CICBC plays an integral role in the community's health by reliably serving the regional and national community for over 30 years, collecting more than 180,000 units annually in Iowa, illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri.

CICBC is community-based and wholly dependent on blood collections from volunteer donors. Once local needs are met, MVRBC assists a national network of community blood centers through a resource-sharing program. Licensed by the US Food & Drug Administration and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks, CICBC is a member of America's Blood Centers, North America's largest network of nonprofit community centers, which collects half of the US blood supply.
