One VISTA member is sought to serve as Community Outreach Specialist with Aging Resources of Central Iowa. This member will work in tandem with other VISTAs to develop programming in Iowa's aging network, including LifeLong Links (LLL) Aging and Disability Resource Centers, the Volunteer Ombudsman Program (VOP), and the Office of the Substitute Decision Maker, and support services offered to older Iowans, Iowans with disabilities, and disabled veterans.
The selected candidate must be available to begin on approximately April 1, 2016. Bachelor's degrees are preferred but not required.
This VISTA will:
* develop and refine an outreach plan for the region.
* research unserved and underserved populations.
* design or enhance Agency activities, events, and fundraising.
* implement community outreach plan to raise awareness of services available.
* incorporate service of the Agency into outreach activities.
* evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
Benefits include: $11,676 living stipend, health plan, $5,775 education scholarship or cash completion bonus, and more.
