INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY - Uhuru Breakfast booth at Grand Lake Farmer's market.

Two Volunteer Coordinators are needed to work in our farmer's market food booth! Our booth is an outdoor kitchen where volunteers prepare, cook and serve scrumptious scrambles, griddled potatoes, wraps, and grilled cheese sandwiches as a fundraiser for political and economic self reliance programs of the Uhuru Movement, led by the African community.

WHO: Uhuru Foods and Pies
WHERE: Oakland's Grand Lake Farmers' Market
WHEN: Every Saturday from 7-3
WHY: This food booth is a part of a world-wide movement to support African people in their struggle for self-determination and economic self-reliance.


DUTIES:

*Help set up and break down the food booth
*Greet volunteers
*Assign volunteers to jobs
*Train and manage volunteers on all positions
*Expedite food orders
*Delegate duties
*Troubleshoot problems


QUALIFICATIONS:
*Goal and people oriented
*Ability to win support for Uhuru Foodses and the programs of the Uhuru Movement
*Works collaboratively, team player
*Ability to follow instructions and set priorities
*Ability to lead, motivate and provide recognition for volunteers

Uhuru Foods & Pies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Black Star Industries. This position is a position of the Uhuru Pies campaign, which raises funds for the programs of the African People's Education and Defense Fund. The program is completely volunteer-run. The Uhuru Pies campaign is based in Northern California and in the St. Petersburg, Florida Bay Area.
