  • 93 people are interested

We always can use weekly volunteers to assist with animal and property care. Volunteers work shifts of 2 hours per week with our horses, goats, cats, dogs, rabbits and rats.

As a small organization we also need skilled volunteers who can assist us regularly with insurance billing, marketing, social media, fundraising, event planning, grant writing. We are very grateful to all our volunteers who join our team!

About ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY PROGRAMS OF COLORADO

Location:

7275 Kipling Street, Arvada, CO 80005, US

Mission Statement

At AATPC, we believe that everyone deserves access to the healing power of animals. Our mission is to provide animal-assisted psychotherapy to clients of all ages, regardless of income level, insurance status, or life circumstances. On a 3-acre ranch in Arvada, CO serves as the perfect setting for our unique type of counseling. With the assistance of our recused therapy animals - including dogs, cats, horses, goats, rabbits, and even rats - clients work in partnership with these animals and a therapist to achieve their therapy goal

Description

Since our founding in 2010 by Linda Chassman and Ellen Winston, we have remained committed to helping those in need. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are able to make our services accessible to all, including those who may not have the means to pay. Our program is specifically designed to serve economically, physically, and/or mentally disadvantaged individuals and families.

In addition to our animal-assisted psychotherapy services, we also offer professional training, in-person trainings, an online Certificate in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy, agency consultation and training, and group or individual consultation.

We invite you to come experience the powerful healing effect of our therapy animals and join us in our mission to make the benefits of animal-assisted psychotherapy accessible to all.
