South King County: Can you lend a hand with Chores? 2 hours a month makes a big difference!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Services

What if you couldn't carry your own groceries? Wash your own dishes? Hundreds of low-income elders and people with disabilites in King County cannot do these things and because they don't qualify for state aid and cannot afford to hire someone to assist them, they need the help of caring volunteers in order to stay in their homes or apartments. Be their safety net.

It's amazing what just a few hours a month can mean to an elderly member of the community, most of whom do not have any family or friends in the area to help them.

Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.

Due to the vulnerable population we serve, volunteers must complete an application form, pass a Washington State Patrol check and attend an orientation
