The Grizzlies Foundation needs you for the 2020-2021 school year. Our flagship mentoring program, the Grizzlies TEAM Mentor Program, is seeking mentors to serve students throughout the city. The TEAM Mentor Program is an after school-based mentoring program for 7th and 8th graders that pairs three volunteer mentors with six students to form one TEAM. Students and mentors meet once a week for 90 minutes, allowing them to develop meaningful relationships.

Visit www.grizzliesfoundation.org/TEAMMentorProgram to learn more about our program and for Info Session dates or contact Spencer Cash at scash@grizzlies.com.

Mission Statement

The Memphis Grizzlies Charitable Foundation supports Memphis youth through mentoring and education. The TEAM UP initiative aims to match young people with mentors and strengthen mentoring programs throughout Memphis and Shelby County.

Description

An affiliate of MENTOR/The National Mentoring Partnership, the Memphis Mentoring Partnership (MMP) has brought together a broad range of community groups and leaders to support responsible mentoring initiatives in Memphis/Shelby County.

Formed in 2001, MMP has been part of the Memphis Grizzlies Charitable Foundation since 2008, making it a significant component of the TEAM UP youth mentoring initiative. This has established a "one-stop shop" for youth mentoring in Memphis and has resulted in strengthening the services and support provided to MMP member groups.

MMP is a centralized office for mentoring, offering information, consultation and guidance to mentoring programs, the recruitment and referral of volunteer mentors, and community-wide outreach promoting mentoring.

MMP offers networking opportunities and training and technical assistance in effective program development and management for program leaders, recruitment and referral of volunteer mentors, mentor incentives and special events, and other mentor support through gatherings featuring guest speakers on a host of topics regarding youth development issues.
