Do you have a knack for working with teens? Community Education Partnerships is looking for an that person to be a tutor at a Youth Drop In Center for Homeless & At-Risk Youth in downtown Oakland. As the onsite tutor, you'll engage the youth in academic activities and assist them with their studies, as needed. Monday or Thursday availability sometime beween 5-7pm required. Mission Statement
The mission of Community Education Partnerships (CEP) is to increase the learning opportunities and enhance the academic achievement of students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Bay Area.
Description
The primary function of CEP is to recruit and train volunteers to provide high-quality academic tutoring for children experiencing housing insecurity in the pre-kindergarten - 12th grade school system. Volunteers get matched with a student with whom they meet once per week, typically at a shelter or transitional home.
