Volunteers needed to teach Junior Achievement lessons during "JA in a Day" for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade. Each volunteer is assigned a classroom to teach for the school day.

Classes will be separated by gender - this opportunity is with JA Girl$, a Junior Achievement of North Florida initiative to educate girls and young women in financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship.

No teaching experience is required to teach a JA program! Our staff will provide a brief training and will give you a classroom kit complete with all program materials needed to teach the lessons, including a guidebook.

Junior Achievement programs are grade level specific and incorporate the areas of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.

During JA in a Day, all five lessons of a Junior Achievement program are taught back to back during one school day. JA programs usually take five to seven weeks to complete.

More information about JA in a Day can be found on our website at www.JAjax.com.

Mission Statement

Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy.

Description

Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12 th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential.

JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students.

Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school. JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21 st-century global marketplace.

Junior Achievement of North Florida is one of 115 JA Areas in the United States. JA of North Florida has been in operation since 1963 and serves youth in Duval, St. Johns, Clay and surrounding counties.
