It is hard to be a good student if you are cold or have caught a cold, because you don't have a jacket. New jackets are distributed during the first week of December - you or your office/church/club can donate now or begin to hold fundraisers to be able to help contribute in 2016. Last year, 618 new jackets were given out. Each jacket costs between $8.00 to $14.00. Monetary donations appreciated and preferred. Some civic, employee, or youth groups may choose to make this into a group project or activity where they sell lemonade, host a talent show, dinner or car wash and contribute proceeds for helping these students. Please make checks payable to the Polk Education Foundation with Hearth Project noted on the memo line and can be mailed to the Hearth Project at P.O. Box 391, Bartow, FL 33831.
