The National First Ladies’ Library is currently looking for local people interested in volunteering to join our dedicated volunteer docent team!
The NFLL’s mission is to educate the public about the lives and contributions of the First Ladies of the United States. Our volunteer docents help us fulfill this mission everyday! Docents are trained by the NFLL and receive ongoing training(s) during their time with us. Docents then lead guided and semi-guided tours of the site to over 10,000 visitors a year from all over the world!
We are seeking people who have an interest in history (particularly women’s and American history) and enjoy teaching others new things! The ideal candidates must be willing to learn more and follow directions. Most importantly, they should love working with people and have fun doing it in a unique environment.
Volunteer Docents are asked to volunteer their time at least twice a month at our site during our open hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesdays thru Saturdays.
