Human interaction is critical to the health care experience. Volunteers in the Cancer Center provide a warm and welcoming presence for patients and their families and attend to patients’ comfort needs. Volunteers may provide refreshments, offer items from the comfort cart and engage in friendly conversation with patients and their families. Offer encouragement and support to patients and their families to help relieve anxieties while they wait.

This opportunity is available on weekdays from 9am to 4pm. Volunteers must be able to serve one 4-hour shift, same day and time each week, for at least six months. We are unable to accept short-term volunteers.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have completed high school.
