Friendly Visitors for Elders in Nursing Home

ORGANIZATION: Chaparral House

  • 179 people are interested

Chaparral House, a non-profit nursing home, is looking for people to make friendly visits (one-on-one) with our residents: conversation, reading, talking history, getting them outside in their wheelchairs when it is nice, etc. Make a big difference in an elder's life!

Some of our residents are pretty cognitive--but if you are comfortable / have experience with Alzheimer's and dementia---we have a big need for visitors for residents with those conditions as well!

For this need we prefer volunteers who can commit to at least one hour a week for a 4-6 month period.

Please contact us if you are interested in helping out. We have volunteers here every day of the week but not during evening or night time hours. All volunteers are required to provide proof of COVID vaccination and a booster. At this time volunteers are also required to wear masks at our facility.
