Saving Lives & Changing Lives through Self-Help
If you believe in the most precious cargo in world..A Child.

Fall celebrations like Halloween and Harvest Day are fun times for children, who can dress up in costumes, enjoy parties, and eat yummy treats. These celebrations also provide a chance to give out healthy snacks, get physical activity, and focus on safety. The Chapman Institute will provide a treat and tips on safety:

Follow these tips to help make the festivities fun and safe for everyone:

  • Provide healthier treats for trick-or-treaters such as low-calorie treats and drinks. For party guests, offer a variety of fruits, vegetables, and cheeses.
  • Use party games and trick-or-treat time as an opportunity for kids to get their daily dose of 60 minutes of physical activity.
  • Be sure walking areas and stairs are well-lit and free of obstacles that could result in falls.
  • Keep candle-lit jack o'lanterns and luminaries away from doorsteps, walkways, landings, and curtains. Place them on sturdy tables, keep them out of the reach of pets and small children, and never leave them unattended.
  • Remind drivers to watch out for trick-or-treaters and to drive safely.

Description

To Our Volunteers:

Volunteerism makes a difference:

Just a few hours of your time, you can make a difference in the life of a young person who needs a strong role model for success.

Chapman Institute will send you into the classrooms of Chicagoland Public Schools where you will speak with students about their futures and the importance of education.

This program is one way the Business Community has responded to the growing gap between the needs of the Workforce. Too often today young people feel lost in a complex society and do not make the connection between a good education and a life long happiness.

Your encouragement can inspire them to stay in school and strive for the best in the process you will be rewarded with the satisfaction of knowing that you have contributed to the future of our community.

Mentoring internally and beyond, some of Chapman Institute successful programs will take place at Elementary Schools.

Chapman Institute will sponsor International Exchange programs.
